Sydney Currie is a painter from Ottawa, Ontario, currently based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University) in May 2025. Currie’s painting practice is process-oriented, exploring gesture and mark-making through somatics, automatic movement, observation, and various forms of meditation. Her debut solo exhibition, The Dance, took place in January 2025 at the Anna Leonowens Gallery in Halifax.
